One of the biggest South Asian breakout records of the past year just got a fresh new spin. Following the viral success of “Pal Pal,” Afusic, Ali Soomro, and Talwiinder have enlisted internationally renowned producer Sickick for an official remix that pushes the track into darker electronic territory. Originally released in 2025, “Pal Pal” steadily became a global favorite across Spotify and social media platforms, finding a home in everything from heartbreak edits to cinematic short-form content. Its emotional songwriting and infectious melodies helped the record resonate far beyond South Asian audiences, setting the stage for a high-profile remix. Known for his signature “SickHop” style, Sickick transforms the original into a...
This episode of the ROAD podcast features an in-depth conversation with @DJHunnyBee, @ArtyFurtado, and @itsDavidTheDJ of the @Club1BD crew. 01:30 The convo starts with a look at the origins of their collaborative relationship, the unique soundscapes of their events, and the welcoming atmosphere they foster within the LGBTQ community. 05:37 Then the team shuts down fabrications surrounding “paid actor” allegations, while emphasizing the significance of their partnership with @AllovusLV in Las Vegas. 18:45 The crew highlights the importance of basic hospitality for DJs and why, given the inconsistent treatment of artists at venues, more DJs should take ownership of their own events. 23:01 The conversation turns to event programming and...
DVS, or digital vinyl systems, have been a fixture in the DJ world for almost a quarter of a century at this point. But truly replicating the vinyl experience with digital music files has always required the use of an existing laptop, desktop or mobile device – until now. The Devious Pocket, from NAP Works, is a tiny device which handles all the DVS trickery internally, which means all you need to use it is a turntable, a mixer, and any USB drive – no laptop needed. On the new episode of Beatport Tech, Mojaxx gives it a full, in-depth review. Learn more about Devious Pocket: https://nap.works/ Watch on DJcity TV Want record pool access? RTT-favorite rising producer Lizdek is back with his new album, DUALITY, out now via MONTA Records. Serving as the follow-up to his 2022 mixtape Gemini, the project finds the rising producer exploring the tension between his polished, melodic side and his heavier, more experimental instincts. Drawing from trap, bass, dubstep, shoegaze, rage rap and other electronic influences, the new project pushes across genres while still feeling cohesive. The album features collaborations with ailow, Matt OX, DJ Smokey, Malixe, Oddly Godly, SURF and Yandrel, further highlighting Lizdek’s ability to bridge the worlds of hip-hop and bass music. The release arrives after a strong run for Lizdek, including his recent collaboration with Habstrakt on...
Some artists spend years trying to find their sound. On Somewhere Along the Way, Lazy Levin sounds like he’s stopped worrying about that entirely. The new EP pulls from dub, reggae, alternative hip-hop, indie rock, and electronic music, but never settles in one place for very long. Instead, the project feels like the product of years spent traveling, collecting influences, and absorbing sounds from different scenes and cultures along the way. Tracks like “Man in a Van” and “Coconuts” showcase Levin’s knack for infectious songwriting and laid-back grooves, while cuts like “WBAKNB” and “Neurospicy” lean into heavier percussion and hypnotic electronic rhythms. Elsewhere, “Super Skank” injects a dose of punk energy into the mix, further...
There are plenty of concept albums out there. Elaine Walker’s MACROCHIP is something a little harder to categorize. Described by the electronic music pioneer as a “mini-movie album,” the eight-track project blends music and visual storytelling into a series of interconnected sci-fi adventures. Rather than creating songs first and adding visuals later, Walker developed both simultaneously, resulting in what she calls a “Synema Song” – a format where the music, characters, and narrative evolve together as a single work. Across the album, listeners are introduced to a world of robots, aliens, astronauts, cosmic rescue missions, and alternate realities. Each track functions as its own chapter, blurring the line between electronic music...
Staten Island artist Zy Smoke is proving that some of the most compelling stories in music aren’t built overnight. The 22-year-old independent artist has steadily built a growing audience through deeply personal songwriting, earning more than 20,000 monthly Spotify listeners without the support of a major label. Drawing inspiration from artists like Tupac, Kanye West, Rod Wave, and Chance the Rapper, Zy Smoke’s music blends vulnerability, resilience, and lived experience into records that resonate far beyond his hometown of Mariners Harbor. His latest release, “Night Shift Halo,” continues that trajectory. The track explores the unseen work that goes into personal growth and artistic ambition, pairing themes of perseverance and faith...
At just 23 years old, New Zealand drum & bass star Rova is continuing his rapid ascent with the release of Undisputed, a six-track EP that showcases the next chapter of his evolution as a producer. Built around a boxing-inspired concept, the new project positions each track as a different round in the fight, highlighting Rova’s versatility while staying firmly rooted in his signature high-energy drum & bass sound. The project includes previously released singles “OCTANE,” “SEE U WORK,” and his collaboration with A Little Sound, “LOW DOWN,” alongside three new tracks that push his sound in fresh directions. The release arrives amid a breakout run for the young producer – Rova has earned support from BBC Radio 1’s Charlie Tee and Jack...
Paris-based DJ and producer Silckyboy is continuing to carve out his own lane with the release of “Bring It Back,” a bass-driven club record that pulls from UK garage, UK bassline, house, and hip-hop influences. Built around a powerful reese bassline and punchy rap vocals, the track showcases the genre-blending approach that has become central to the artist’s sound. Miami-based rapper Stige adds another layer to the record, bringing a unique perspective shaped by his Jamaican roots and helping give the track its distinctive energy. All of this comes together to create an intoxicating dance record built for both late-night club sets and summer playlists. Hear what we mean by streaming the record via Spotify below and be sure to turn your...
Following the launch of her 4ever Music imprint with “BADBOYS,” Toronto-based DJ/producer Zorza returns with “ONEBODY,” a collaboration with Belgian duo Promis3 out now via 4ever Music / Universal Music Group Canada. Where the label’s debut leaned into raw, high-impact energy, “ONEBODY” turns more introspective, pairing driving hard-dance production with layered melodies and stacked vocals. The result is a track that balances festival-ready intensity with a more reflective emotional core. Lyrically, the single explores distance, memory, and the lingering presence of relationships in a hyper-digital world, where endings rarely feel complete, and connection continues through feeds and digital traces. “It exists in that post-internet...
TroyBoi has teamed up once again with Toxic Rob for their latest collaboration, “Way Better,” a groove-heavy record that blends hip-hop swagger with the producer’s signature bass-driven sound. Built around weighty percussion, deep low-end, and a laid-back bounce, the track gives Toxic Rob’s vocals plenty of room to shine. Rather than relying on an oversized drop, TroyBoi keeps the production clean and intentional, creating a rhythm-focused record that feels equally suited for headphones and the dancefloor. The release follows the pair’s previous collaboration “DHUNGA,” which is approaching 2 million Spotify streams and showcased the chemistry that continues on “Way Better.” Beyond its club-ready energy, the track also carries a message...
Canadian producer and engineer Joseph Desando has quietly become a key contributor to a growing number of successful electronic music releases, live productions, and commercial projects. Over the course of his career, Desando has earned credits on more than 25 officially released records that have collectively surpassed 60 million streams. Since joining Loud Luxury’s creative team in 2024, he has contributed production, engineering, and live performance material used across the duo’s international tours and releases. Among his recent accomplishments, Desando contributed to an officially released Taylor Swift remix that reached No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes chart in late 2025. His catalog also includes work with artists such as Frank Walker...
Photo credit: Alive Coverage/Electric Forest The beauty of Electric Forest is hard to put into words. It has a certain energy and power to it that one can’t even begin to fathom until they truly submerge themselves into the Forest. And that is much more than just buying a ticket. It means stepping out of your comfort zone. It means dancing with strangers. It means taking it all in and seeing how the magic of Forest can transform you, the other 360 days that you aren’t at Rothbury. That’s when you’ll really see why so many people lovingly call this place home. Why so many people put in their time-off request at work as a “Family camping trip” even if they’re traveling alone. The magic isn’t just names on a flyer, but a collection of so...
There are few sounds in electronic music and sound design as immediately recognizable as the stacked sawtooth wave. Emerging from the digital, virtual analog revolution of the 1990s, the supersaw became the driving force of rave anthems, euphoric pop, and wall-of-sound club music. Today, Native Instruments is proud to introduce Super*Saw (pronounced SuperStarSaw), a brand-new synthesizer co-created with visionary artist, producer, and PC Music founder A.G. Cook. To celebrate the launch, we sat down with A.G. Cook at Baltic Studios in London to talk about his unique production philosophy, how he pushes digital instruments to their limits, and how Super*Saw condenses complex stacking workflows into a single, highly expressive instrument...

Mazare released the single ‘The End’ featuring Lost in Hollywood today via Universal Music Italia. The producer from Northeast Italy has received support from SLANDER, Illenium, Seven Lions, Said The Sky and Don Diablo. In the past six years his music has come out mainly on Monstercat and Insomniac Records, collecting more than 35 million streams on Spotify. He grew up with his father’s records by Pink Floyd, U2 and Genesis, and electronic music took hold after he heard David Guetta’s ‘When Love Takes Over’ in 2009. His approach blends heavy metal-electronic hybrids with emotional pop-rock elements, inspired by The Prodigy, Noisia and Bring Me The Horizon. ‘The End’ extends Mazare’s recent heavier direction by pairing distorted...
The existing entry point into the standalone rekordbox ecosystem, the XDJ-RR, was released in 2018, so is based on technology that is basically prehistoric at this stage. It’s finally being replaced with something new – the AlphaTheta XDJ-AN, which brings things fully up to date, but also comes with a few quirks all of it’s own. On the new episode of Beatport Tech over on YouTube, Mojaxx breaks down everything you need to know about the unit – the good, the bad, and the stuff which has him scratching his head.
